The future is electric. (But only if builders have access to the technology!)
In 2019, my good friend Jake had a vision. We set out to build an all-electric ultra high performance mountain snowmobile, a street fighter motorcycle, and an insanely capable side-by-side. With my marketing background in the corporate powersports OEM industry, and his background in aftermarket product development and manufacturing, we knew that we could disrupt the industry as a boutique limited-run vehicle manufacturer that catered exclusively to a high net worth clientele.
He designed the vehicle platforms for scaled manufacturing, and I created the brand and go to market strategy to launch. We wanted to power these ultra futuristic vehicles with an all-electric powertrain—not because we thought it would save the planet—but because we could make our vehicles perfectly symmetrical, lower their center of gravity, and tune them for instant torque. Inspired by the automotive trend of "hypercars", with a focus on quality and "craftsmanship", Hypercraft was born.
But we ran into one big hurdle. Integrating the components of an EV powertrain would require a massive investment into multi-disciplined engineering development! It ended our original business plan before we could even get started. But this insurmountable hurdle would reveal itself as a global trillion dollar total addressable market opportunity that we accidentally stumbled into. Hypercraft pivoted in 2020 to become an early market disruptor focused on delivering turnkey EV powertrain systems to the transportation industry—with a focus on modularity, and engineering the complexity out of the EV powertrain system. Just 5 years into our journey, Hypercraft is poised to lead the global transportation industry into the future.
